From April 30 through June 20, 2000, RockNet collected user survey submittals.
The survey was designed to help us understand how Rockville citizens are using the
Internet. The survey is still available at survey.html.
We received 47 surveys. Here is a summary of the results...
- More of our users (twice as many) use the Internet from home than from the office.
- From home, almost everyone uses dial-up phone service.
- Most of our users are over 40, many are over 60.
- When a home has Internet service, almost everyone in the house uses it.
- Yahoo has a wide following.
- There is a great variety in initial web pages viewed.
- A variety of search engines are used.
