ROCKNET MEETING MINUTES
February 8, 2001
Meeting convened at the City Manager's Conference Room, Rockville City Hall
at 7:40 PM
In attendance: Bob Ekman, Betsy Robbins, Stan Klein, Brian Pierce, Julie Kasper
1) Minutes of last meeting were modified and then accepted.
2) Brian Pierce was voted in as a member of the RockNet Board by e-mail ballot.
He has accepted and was welcomed.
3) Betsy reported on the City's web site:
a. With thanks to Julie Kasper, the Historic District walking tour has been
posted.
b. The Summer Camp Guide for 2001 has been posted.
c. The City Financial Report will be posted soon.
d. Boards and Commissions minutes and agenda are taking significant labor and
the numbers are growing.
e. Working on a Fall Rec Program and Rentals e-commerce site. RockNet can
test the system this summer. Tom DeGeorge has a network flow description.
f. The City has decided to go ahead and purchase a digital camera for citizen
use, with FY2001 budget. RockNet agreed to help with the requirements and
policy for use.
4) Bob reported on RockNet's web site:
a. Audio (.mp3) files have been added to the Rockville Concert Band web pages.
b. Added two new citizen accounts.
c. Had some problems on the NTList email server. They were resolved when we
limited the number of lists to 20. We need to get the latest NTList
product and increase the number of lists.
d. We have had some updates on the citizen association web pages, but could use
more activity.
5) Security issues are to remain on the agenda, but with no specific problem.
6) Bob submitted a letter to Mike Cannon asking for continued support from
the City. The letter will be posted and form the basis for RockNet activities
during 2001.
