ROCKNET MEETING MINUTES November 9, 2000 Meeting convened at the City Manager's Conference Room, Rockville City Hall at 7:30 PM Those present were: Bob Ekman, Betsy Robbins, Brian Pierce, Jim Beller, Roald Schrack, Duncan Warner, Stan Klein 1) Minutes of the October meeting were accepted with minor corrections. 2) Betsy Robbins reported on the City site. A section called "Kidsville" is being developed which will provide information of interest to children about Rockville history and natural features. It will attempt to be colorful and attractive as well as educational. The city Information Technology Strategic Plan was presented to the Mayor and Council and was strongly supported. 3) Betsy Robbins presented the stats for the city site and Rocknet for October. Rocknet is up to an average of 253 hits a day. The City site is getting 1061 hits a day. 4) There was a discussion of minor alterations to the Rocknet site. 5) there were two responses so far to the letters sent to the civic associations. There was some discussion of changing of the Sister City Corporation page from the city server to the Rocknet server. 6) Bob Ekman discussed the desire of the Public Health officials to utilize the listserve email service as a means of rapidly distributing notices to the public about a health emergency -- like the recent Blue Nile Virus.
