ROCKNET MEETING MINUTES
August 10, 2000
The meeting convened at 7:30 PM in the City Manager's Conference Room of
City Hall.
Present were: Bob Ekman
Robert Skinner
Randy Gentry
Michael Sarich

Betsy Robbins
Roald Schrack
1) The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as presented.
2) An Intranet is being developed for City Hall. The City site has new
presentations of the Watts Branch Exhibit, Art Gallery at the Mansion, and
customer service standards for city employees.
The statistics gathering program is not working right so there were no
statistics reports on the city site or Rocknet.
3) Rocknet is now hosting about half a dozen web pages for city groups.
There was a discussion of the development of a starter kit for groups to
use in making the web pages that Rocknet would host. The was a discussion
of server security.
4) Randy Gentry of Twinbrook Citizens Association discussed his maintenance
of the TCA web page.
5) Mike Sarich has a grant to set up a community web page in Laurel, MD.
Several suggestions were made of good community web sites to model the
Laurel site on in addition to Rocknet.
6) Bob Skinner is investigating a possible bank for us to use. He was
disturbed by the proposed charges and is continuing his research.
The meeting adjourned at 9:01 PM.
