ROCKNET MEETING MINUTES July 13, 2000 The meeting convened at 7:40 PM in the City Manager's Conference Room at City Hall In attendance were: Bob Ekman, Stan Klein, Betsy Robbins, Roald Schrack, Bob Skinner and Mike Cannon. 1) The minutes of the meeting of June 15 were accepted as submitted. 2) Betsy Robbins reported on the city website. She now has an assistant that is assisting on cyclic updates. A Glenview Mansion page is being developed as well as one for the Twinbrook Recreation Center. The Police Department page is being reworked. 3) The Access to the Rocknet page (as well as the city page) has been markedly speeded up due to the ISP change. Fallsmead page has been updated, Kevin Johnson is working on the calendar. There was a discussion of mail forwarding changes that seem to be related the ISP change. 4) Revised copy of the Brochure was again revised and should be produced in the coming month. 5) Stan Klein reported on topics associated with computer security. Specific security fixes were discussed. Most of the security faults discussed have already been fixed or are not applicable to Rocknet. Further investigation was planned but the hiring of an outside security consultant was put off until more information was obtained. 6) There are now 17 lists being served by the Rocknet computer. Most of them are inactive. They seem to be working ok. The users of the lists will be contacted to see if they are still needed. 7) Bob presented an Action Plan draft and asked for comment. 8) Roald presented results of the survey.The results will be posted on the web.
