ROCKNET MEETING MINUTES
May 11, 2000
The meeting convened at 7:30 PM at The City Manager's Conference Room,
Rockville City Hall
In attendance were: Bob Ekman
Betsy Robbins
Bob Bolick
Stan Klein
Wendy Pelham
Roald Schrack
1) Minutes of March and April meetings were accepted without revision.
2) Betsy Robbins presented a copy of the brochure. It was decided to ask
for an initial printing of 1000.
3) The switch of the Rocknet ISP from Sailor to Capunet is proceeding. The
implementation of the address change in the DNS system is a major impediment.
4) Wendy Pelham volunteered to be of assistance is the development of Web
pages for civic associations. Bob Bolick eagerly accepted the offer in
developing a page for Rose Hill Falls.
5) Bob Ekman asked Betsy Robbins if she could take over the Rocknet
Calendar. She agreed to look into it.
6) Security at Rocknet was discussed in light of recent virus activity and
our planned move to a DSL internet connection. It was urged that the city
obtain the services of a consultant to assess the risks on both the Rocknet
and City sites. Stan Klein agreed to work up a proposal.
7) Bob Ekman gave survey forms collected at the Science Fair to Roald
Schrack for analysis.
Meeting adjourned at 9:15 PM. Next meeting planned for June 8.
