ROCKNET MEETING MINUTES
October 12, 2000
Meeting convened in City Manager's Conference Room of Rockville City Hall
at 7:30 P.M.
Those present were: Bob Ekman
Adlue Zussman
Mike Cannon
Stan Klein
Betsy Robbins
Brian Pierce
Roald Schrack
1) Approved minutes of previous meeting.
2) Statistics for August and part of September for Rocknet and the City site
were presented by Betsy Robbins. During September the Rocknet site was
averaging 233 average users per day. The City site was averaging 925 users
per day. The most popular page on Rocknet was Housing, followed by Leisure.
The most popular site on the City was Recreation followed by What's New.
There was a brief discussion of the statistics and the desire for a better
program to produce them.
3) Betsy discussed a number of areas she is working on including the City
intranet (employee handbook, city employee newsletter, policies and
procedures manual) and the Geographical Information System.
4) Bob Ekman presented a draft letter that will be sent to all civic
associations in the city, together with the brochure inviting their
participation in Rocknet. The Board pitched in to affixed stamps to the
envelopes.
5) There was a discussion of security issues. It was suggested that a
detailed plan be developed to respond to a security threat if one occurred.
6) Adlue offered her assistance is producing web pages for civic
associations. Her offer was gratefully accepted.
The meeting adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
