WECA General Meeting, October 18th 2007.

This meeting provided a forum for candidates hoping to be elected to mayoral and council positions in Rockville.

118 signatures were recorded on the sign in sheets, but many more were in attendance. Patricia Woodward, President of WECA, opened the meeting at 7pm and welcomed the candidates.

The forum lasted from 7pm to 9pm and Jack Gelin acted as the moderator.  Firstly, each candidate was given the opportunity to introduce themselves and present the main proposals they’d implement should they be successfully elected to office. Next, Jack posed a variety of questions, (previously submitted by citizens) and, where time permitted, audience members were also able to ask some questions.

Initially, this process was applied to the three mayoral candidates – Susan Hoffman, Mark Pierzchala and Drew Powell.  After the latter had used up their allotted time, more questions were submitted to the eleven, potential council members, which they answered in rotation.

The candidates for council in attendance were – Brigitta Mullican, Anne Roberts, Phyllis Marcuccio, Tracy Pakulniewicz- Chidiac,  Richard Gottfried, Theo Anderson, John Britton, Piotr Gajewski, Bob Dorsey, Carl Henn and Eric Wang.
